Become a CNA through your Red Cross

Start your career in the health care field by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant through the American Red Cross. The Red Cross has been involved in nursing for more than 100 years and is proud to continue that tradition through our 120 hour Virginia Board of Nursing approved program located here in Alexandria. Currently, our classes are being offered as a 4 week day or 6 week evening/weekend course which includes a 40 hour clinical rotation performed at the Goodwin House. All of our classes are instructed by distinguished Registered Nurses working together to ensure your success. Classroom instruction involves not only textbook and DVD materials, but hands on training through multiple skill stations utilizing hospital beds and other medical equipment.

Over the past two years we have found that this program enhances employment eligibility for those students already enrolled or intending to pursue a degree within the health care field. Aspiring nurses are able to obtain valuable clinical experience prior to gaining employment and having that clinical experience has made the critical difference during the hiring process. Many of our nursing graduates have gone on to successfully seek employment as CNA’s in such establishments as Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center.

So, take the time and make an invaluable investment towards your future. Please visit our website at www.redcrossnca.org and click on “Take a Class” or the picture of the nurse located on the right hand side of the website. We also encourage you to call 703 299-2527 or come by in person and attend one of our monthly information sessions. For those of you who are military spouses and qualify through MyCAA we are an approved program through the Department of Defense.
