(Full-time, Location: TBD) Responsible for all fundraising throughout the Region including individual and corporate giving, grants and foundations, legacies and bequests; BA in Marketing or related field, or equivalent, plus a Certification as a Fundraising Executive is preferred; a minimum of 8 years of experience in related fields including demonstrated success as a fundraiser; a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Director, Health & Safety
(Full-time, Location: Fairfax) Responsible planning, developing, administering, delivering, and evaluating American Red Cross health and safety educational programs, products, and services that are marketed to individuals, organizations and companies within the region’s jurisdiction. Implements the Red Cross health and safety programs to generate significant revenue through cost recovery programs that support the program and contribute to the financial health of the region. The Director is responsible for maintaining business relationships and developing new business opportunities, for the logistics and operation of all appropriate programs provided by the region, and for the excellence of the region’s Health & Safety programs. Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, with a major in non-profit management, education, development, or business plus five years work experience in a managerial position. The candidate must have excellent managerial, customer service, marketing, interpersonal, verbal/written communication, analytical, problem solving and project management skills. The incumbent must either be or be willing to be trained and appointed as an American Red Cross instructor. Nurse Instructor The American Red Cross in the National Capital Region is seeking two part-time instructors for our Nurse Assistant Training (NAT) program. The NAT program is 120 hours for a four week course and is held on evenings and weekends. The successful candidates will be compensated at $25.00 per hour. Instructors are responsible for instructing students on a variety of health care topics, according to state of Virginia established guidelines. Duties include: • Provides clinical and classroom instruction to up to 12 qualified students. • Teaches personal care skills such as bathing, feeding and range of motion. • Teaches infection control, building residents’ rights, communication skills, and skills to be a participating member of a health care team. • Performs required record keeping according to American Red Cross (ARC) and State of Virginia specifications. • Teaches State Test Review class for students to obtain CNA certification in Virginia
Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (R.N.) with current VA license • Minimum of five years clinical experience, including long term care experience or providing care of chronically ill. • Experience teaching adults • Excellent, clear oral and written communication skills. • Must be able to demonstrate clinical skills and be able to provide for the health and safety of students during skills laboratory and clinical experience. • Able to successful pass a background check
