After attending a New Volunteer Orientation, you should plan to attend a DAT Camp that includes Fulfilling our Mission, Client Casework, Mass Care, Shelter Operations, and either Disaster Assessment Basics or Shelter Simulation. These courses will give you a solid foundation to help support your local communities – by participating on a Disaster Action Team (DAT) or a preparedness committee.  Ask your local response coordinators for information about each. Prior to registering for any Disaster training course, please explore our disaster training pages.  Note - Some disaster courses have prerequisites that are enforced. To register for any disaster course, please submit the following information.  Please note that registration for Red Cross courses closes 5 business days prior to the date the class will be held.
