Description and Learning Objective - Shares HIV/AIDS facts accurately and in a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive and culturally specific ways with African American and multicultural community groups
- Discusses facts related to sensitive issues such as sex and sexuality, drugs and drug use.
- Serves as community resource for information about HIV and AIDS including being knowledgeable about the various services that contribute to holistic approaches to HIV prevention in African American communities
Prerequisites - Be at least 17 years of age.
- Have experience working with African-American communities. Experience that includes working with African American young people is preferred but not required.
- Hold a current certification (Cert. 3010) for the American Red Cross Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) or a current Health & Safety Service instructor authorization (F5736 or C3005).
- Pass the HIV/AIDS Starter Facts exam with in the last 12 months.
