armed services and to their families. Both active duty and community-based military can count on the Red Cross.

American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) provides emergency communications, access to
emergency financial assistance, information and referral, veterans assistance and aid in the field where Red Cross workers are
deployed to serve with America's military.
Military personnel, assigned to CONUS (Continental United States): Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico Military Instillations, who are trying to
reach their family members, may contact (877) 272 - 7337.

Get To Know Us Before You Need Us
There is profound effect on military service personnel preparing for deployments, and their family members remaining supportive at home.
In an effort to educate them about services available prior to their deployment, the American Red Cross of the National Capital Area
Services to the Armed Forces provides briefings to military personnel and their families so
they understand what is available to them through the Red Cross. To schedule a briefing,

Volunteer Opportunities
Interested in assisting military members and their families? Call us! We are looking for volunteers! Current opportunities in SAF include:
- Emergency Caseworker Team: Team members and leaders are needed to provide emergency communication, access to financial assistance,
information and referral to military personnel and their families.
- Military Briefing Team: Team members and leaders are needed to present on-site informative briefings for military personnel and
family members regarding the important services provided by the American Red Cross.
- Administrative Services Team: Administrative Services team members are needed to coordinate the smooth operation
of the various programs provided by AFES.
- Treats for Troops Team: Team members help deliver goodies to local service members on holidays (such as Thanksgiving and Christmas).
